Sealing in particular serves to secure containers or devices against unauthorized opening. If a seal is installed, this can usually only be removed by means of its destruction by means of a tool or manually. In this way it is possible to quickly understand whether someone has access to the sealed property. In the area of security seals and high-security seals, the seals are additionally provided with a continuous or unique numbering. Thus, after a transport at the destination, it can be checked whether the original seal still exists.
Sealing is now available in many different versions. In addition to the classic lead seals, which have been on the market for decades, a large selection of plastic seals has now joined the seal. These lead to the environmentally-friendly alternative to lead and at the same time convince as a more cost-effective and particularly flexible solution. As well as lead seals, plastic seals can also be individually marked, by pressing a corresponding plunger with the sealing pliers.
As a rule, a sealing pliers is required to provide seals on equipment and containers. Today, however, there are also seals that can be used without tools. So-called pull-through seals, for example, function similarly to a cable tie and can be fixed manually in a flexible length. Their low tear strength makes it possible to remove the seals even without tools. With their easy handling, these plugs are ideal for emergency and first-aid kits, emergency exits and fire extinguishers.
