The seals are even compulsory during international container transportation and not only cater for security, but also for an optimised transportation sequence. Necessarily, container seals are destroyed when the container is opened. As a result, the seals fulfil the function of a disposable lock without it being necessary to transport a key involving a lot of time and effort. Equipped with a special code, it can be quickly checked at the point of destination whether the original seal is still undamaged and fastened to the container and whether the container has actually arrived in an unopened condition.
